  • Beschrijving: Years ago, at some old harbor, Rena and Antonis, two young people, fall in love. At that same harbor we see Rena sitting now with her son, reading her husband’s letter. She reminisces about the way she and Antonis met and how his father, the rich and powerful Mr. Arvanitis, had opposed their relationship because she was poor. However, Antonis left his father’s house to marry her. They had a child, but a few years later Antonis was forced to become a seaman in order to make ends meet. One night, Rena wakes up startled by a nightmare, falls down a flight of stairs and suffers amnesia. The doctor, who heard that her husband drowned in a sea-wreck, feels for her. Rena is unable to take care of her son, who is therefore sent to an orphanage. But the kid runs away and falls into the hands of some evil person. At the same time, his grandmother dies, but his grandfather begins to mellow. Everything ends happily when Antonis, who, miraculously, didn’t drown after all, returns home, and the family is reunited.
